What's New for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Some Grand Cherokee models have few changes for 2023 and other more. For example, version L remains almost the same but lots of new standalone options are now present in the Limited and Overland ones like top stereo systems, more premium cabins, in-dash navigation, etc. Also, the greatly appreciated 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system with navigation is one of the most important additions. It comes standard set on Summit, Limited, Summit Reserve, and Overland versions.
Thanks to this new cool unit operating speeds are five times faster when set alongside the previous Uconnect 4C system. It also gives great flexibility and a chance for enhancing new features and constant innovations via the Android OTA upgrades.
9-speaker Alpine premium audio system is now offered by Jeep as standard equipment on Limited versions. The beauty of this system is in its subwoofer and powerful amplifier with perfect noise control. The 19-speaker McIntosh® MX950 Entertainment System does wonders of audio performance, the owners of Overland and Summit models will be enjoying it as well as the MX950 unit with 19 customized speakers, a 17-channel amplifier giving up to 950-watts of power, and a cool 10-inch subwoofer.
The redesigned version of 2023 is an improvement in fuel economy and refinement. Although driving Grand Cherokee is pure joy, there are better options with simpler controls, shorter braking distances, and higher road test scores, some reviewers admit. In addition to this, the Jeep brand’s historically below-average reliability should give shoppers pause. The notable difference between the 2022 and 2023 models is the lack of gas.
Anyways, the Jeep Grand Cherokee combines off-road capability with on-road comfort all wrapped in a stylish and practical package with the new plug-in hybrid variant. Grand Cherokee is still an excellent off-roader. Access to the Trailhawk version is limited this year but even base models will win more areas than most SUVs.

Image 1: How The Prices Vary
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee are available with two engines. Both of them are hitched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The base 3.6 liter V6 makes 293 horsepower and 260 ft-lb of torque which is a healthy power output for the class. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and a basic all-wheel drive system is optional.
Fuel Consumptions for 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee models
City/highway fuel economy for the rear-wheel-drive V-6 version is 19 mpg and 26 mpg respectively. With all-wheel drive added, both of the numbers lower by 1 mpg. The estimation goes in line with V-6–powered rivals. The Grand Cherokee V8 trims offer 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.
Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve models have the option of upgrading to a 5.7 liter V8 cranking out 357 horsepower and 390 ft-lb. The V8 is only available in one of Jeep’s amazing 4WD systems and fuel economy sinks to 1420 seconds mpg. The V8 is the best choice for towing with a maximum capacity of 7200 pounds.
The Grand Cherokee's ride is smooth, pleasant, and competent. The steering is weighted well and the brake pedal is nicely firm.
Exterior Details
New generation Jeep styling is obvious. A fully LED headlight module is very appreciated as well as the Amber fog lights, and DRLs. The Summit version, for example, boasts a multi-reflector LED headlight with an automatic low and high beam, LED turn signal, and LED daytime run light. For your driver’s assistance, there is a front-facing camera on the actual windshield. There are 7 corporate slot Jeep Grilles here, and everything in the front facia is functional.
The tires and wheels do belong to the luxury segment. Drivers love the aluminum finish on them, and the really large brake calipers. No mudguards in front of the wheel - you have them behind - but the details for the airflow, which many owners find unexpected and odd.
The Grand Cherokee’s side profile with a 116.7-inch wheelbase is mainly dominated by the body character line going down the middle. It is not aggressively overstyled and all the proportions overall are very good. You will find the American flag next to the Grand Cherokee batch on both of the front doors showing American pride. The stream level comes with 20-inch wheels which are neither too big nor too small but nicely balanced. More aluminum trims here on the side panel and door handles, around the window trim. There is a LED side marker with a gloss black mirror cap, and some models like Summit have large panoramic sunroofs with aerodynamic roof rails. The rear panel looks great with the floating roof design. Tail lights are very slim and fully LED.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Few cabins in the class are as nice as Grand Cherokee’s.
Inside the cabin two-tone color fit and finish are impressive. The cockpit design is cohesive, and tech features are competitive for the class. The well-built interior has a modern handsome design and upper trim models are replete with fine leather and other luxurious build materials.
In the Limited version, for instance, you enjoy a door panel with soft leather for your elbows, seat memory, a place for the bottle, mirror and window controls, etc. Six-way power-adjustable seats with precious lumbar support that is more functional and flexible than in most cars.
The passenger-side seat has the same electronic controls as the driver’s seat. Normally, manufacturers try to cheap out on this.
A pretty small glow box. The rear seats have the same materials of soft leather, fake wood, and soft plastic. Plenty of space for legs even when you are tall. The sound system here and a small bottle space, climate controls, and chargers. A little LED light above. A very good headrest with two cupholders in the middle in case it is not occupied by a passenger. Adjustable seats are comfortable enough for a long journey. With rare seats down the back of the car becomes a sleeping space. This is where you can spot tiny images of all the Jeep models on the bottom of the window glass.
Compared to two-row mid-size SUV rivals, the Grand Cherokee has decent cargo capacity. It offers 37.7 feet of space behind the second row and 70.8 cubic feet with the rear row folded. However, many three-row mid-size SUV rivals offer considerably more cargo room. A full-size spare wheel instead of a fix-and-flight kit underneath the load floor as a standard offer will save you hundreds of euros in the future.
Laredo versions are all about the essentials, Summit and Overland ones add chic pleasures like high-tech displays, quilted leather covering, open-pore wood finish, massaging front seats, and more.

The Limited’s fully LCD display does say “Jeep” since 1941, and it can be controlled and customized using the buttons on the steering wheel. The touchscreen display supports both iOS Car Play and Android Auto. The screen is responsive enough. Media controls, climate controls, navigation, a rearview camera with the ability to zoom a lot, etc. Fighter jet-style buttons on the control panel give everything a really high-end feel.
The Macintosh sound system will illuminate at night.
It is worth noting, there is a lot of piano black in the interior, and it is going to leave its mark as people’s fingerprints. A small cute LED light inside the center console shows great attention to detail.

2023 Grand Cherokee SUMMIT RESERVE
All in all, we think Jeep did a fantastic job in 2023 with these all-new chassis, interior, and exterior styling. Grand Cherokee is a wonderful family vehicle, bigger and more elite in the next year generation, with a nice ride quality, smooth steering feel, great ground clearance, and more. An ultimate American land rover is what Jeep Grand Cherokee is embracing here.
